Cassandra Dionne Lynch “DeeDee” was born November 25, 1972, and Sheffield, Alabama as the first child to the late Georgia LaFreda Lynch and Connie Lee Moore.
She grew up in Sheffield, Alabama where she accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Sheffield.
Cassandra attended and went through the Sheffield City School system and graduated from Sheffield High in 1991. She was a good academic student and an active member in extracurricular clubs and social activities. She began her collegiate journey at the University of North Alabama (UNA) but realized college wasn’t for her. She then enlisted in the United States Army. After her time in the military she resided in St. Louis, Missouri as well as in Nashville, Tennessee. She then decided to make Huntsville, Alabama her Home. She had a love for sports and especially Alabama Crimson Tide football. She also had a love for a nice purse.
She departed this life on Saturday, September 30, 2023. She was preceded in death by her mother, (Freda); father, (Connie); son, (Jarrod); grandparents Carrie B. Lynch, Esther Lee Moore and Horace Smith.
Cassandra leaves to cherish her memories: brothers: Mr. Michael (Jamee) Bonds Kendallville, IN and Mr. Jeremy Moore, Muscle Shoals, AL; grandmother: Ms. Ann Smith, Muscle Shoals, AL; aunts: Ms. Janie Cole, Huntsville, AL; Ms. Geneva (Eli) Asher, St. Louis, MO, Ms. Willie Ann Mayes, Leighton, AL, Ms. Teresa Barnes, Muscle Shoals, AL, and Ms. Nikita (Chris) McClain, Montgomery, AL; uncles: Mr. Willie (Kimberly) Smith, Helena, AL, and Johnny (Rhoda) Montgomery, Millbrook, AL. Devoted Aunt Lela and Uncle Carl Reed of Hillsboro, AL. Devoted special cousins: Valerie Mason, Marcus and Myron Asher, Christian, Monyelle, Sheila and Cora. Devoted friends: Gwen Pugh, Virginia Humphrey and The Wilson’s (Dawn, Carl and Donaven).
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor Clifford Mayes officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield, Alabama.
The Lynch family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories.
