Mrs. Carylon Ann Melson Banks, 65, of Cypress Inn, Tennessee, departed this life on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitaion Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee. She was born Dec. 22, 1951 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of Irene Whitten Melson, of Collinwood, Tennessee, and the late John Edgar Melson. In addition to her father, Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by grandparents, Jay and Pearl Melson and Sherman and Isa Whitten.
She was united in marriage to John E. Banks on Dec. 27, 1969. Mrs. Carylon was retired from Collinwood Drugs as a pharmacy technician and was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Chirch.
Other than her mother, she is survived by her husband John E. Banks, of Cypress Inn, Tennessee; sons, Jason Edward Banks, of Cypress Inn, Tennessee, and John Eric Banks, of Florence, Alabama; daughter, Kimberly Rena Griggs, of Waynesboro, Tennessee; grandchildren, Morgan Griggs, Weston Banks, and Daxton Banks; brothers, John Melson, of Anchorage, Alaska, Kenneth Melson; sisters, Linda Griggs, and Brenda Thomspon, all of Waynesboro, Tennessee, Judy Inman and Norma Brewer, both of Collinwood, Tennessee.
Visitation will be today, March 6, 2017 from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Cypress Inn, Tennessee with Greg Eaton and Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral directors in charge of the arrangements.
