Cary Wayne Simmons – Obituary

 Cary Wayne Simmons, 69 of Arley, entered into rest on Sunday, May 12, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born on August 4, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Hialeah High School and went on to proudly serve his country for three years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Before his retirement, Wayne worked at Cavalier Homes in Addison as a plumber and cabinet builder. He enjoyed fishing and riding fourwheelers and  motorcycles.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 4-5pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where a memorial service will follow at 5pm. Brother Jeff Wiggins will officiate.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Scot Simmons, and BJ Simmons and his wife Jessica; and brother, Gary DeWitt Simmons and his wife Penny. He was “Pop” to three grandchildren, Katie Simmons, Caleb Simmons and Braylon Simmons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joni Marie Simmons; parents, Frank Dewitt Simmons and Virginia Smith Simmons.
