Carrie Rudene Burt – Obituary

carrieA Celebration of Life for Mrs. Carrie Rudene Burt, 87, of Decatur will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Macedonia C.P Church in America with the Reverend Leo Owens officiating. Inhumation will follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. At the request of Mrs. Burt, there will be no public viewing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.
Rudene was born in Lawrence County on November 13, 1927, to the late Spot and Arlena Davis Pointer. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Ebenezer Christian Church. She was a graduate of Tennessee Valley High School and was retired from Delphi Corporation.
Mrs. Burt was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Burt; parents, Spot and Arlena Pointer; granddaughters, Shontisha Burt and Makyla Burt; siblings, Leslie A. Jones, Levolia Pointer, Oley Pointer, Velma Pointer, Sarah Love and Pearl Black; and daughter-in-law, Betty Pointer.
Her memory will always live in the hearts of her beloved children, James (Martha) Turnbore, of Teaneck, NY, Marshall Pointer, of Augusta, GA, Carnell Levolia Burt, of Louisville, KY, Lorenzo Burt and Althea Burt, both of Decatur; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Susie Perkins and Mary Lee Burt; one special cousin, Sue Bowman, all of Hillsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Flower bearers and pallbearers will be family and friends.
