Carrie Jeanette Walker – Likaits, a proud Clifton native who grew up on and loved the Tennessee River, peacefully passed away August 13, 2024 after a four year journey as a stroke victim. Up until the end, Jeanette maintained her compassion and kindness for others; especially for family and friends. She was known to most as “Momma Net.” Jeanette can be encapsulated by the five “F” words, Family, friends, flowers, food, and fun. In her 88 years with us she experienced an abundance of each. Jeanette appreciated all that life gave her, up until the very end. Until she lost the ability to speak, Jeanette would express how grateful she was to have lived a long life filled, with a loving family and good friends. Her daughters fondly remember the lessons in being independent, getting by without a partner or having to rely on others, and her love of gardening and caring for her chickens. She was known in her community for her dark hair, a trait of her Chickasaw heritage of which she was proud, and fierce personality.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her Sisters, Doris and Johnnie Churchwell, Husbands, Paul Walker and Marvin Likaits.
She is survived by her children, Sandra K. Hassell, Sonya M. Bannan, and Terry Paul Walker. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
