Mrs. Carolyn Sue Pearce, age 78, of Sumiton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Cordova Health and Rehab.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy W. Pearce; daughter, Jean Blackmon; parents Melvin and Emmie Taft; and brothers, Larry Taft, Billy Taft and Bobby Taft.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Tolbert; son-in-law, Doug Blackmon; daughters, Melissa Waid (Forrest) and Kim Abbot (Benjy); 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, David Taft (Mary); sisters, Bonnie Mewbourn (John) and Jaynie Ballenger (Carey); sister-in-law, Alex Taft; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Carolyn loved her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her. Her family gives a special thank you to Comfort Care Hospice and Cordova Health and Rehab.
Memorial services will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Bell Sumiton Chapel. Pastor Bruce Levan will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dementia Research or your charity of choice.
