Mrs. Carolyn “Sue” Brasfield Brown
passed away peacefully at her home
surrounded by family on January 12, 2018,
at the age of 77.
Mrs. Brown was born on June 7th, 1940 in
Praco, Alabama to Harry & Willodean
Brasfield. She was united in marriage to
Homer (Pauley) Eugene Brown on October
7th, 1955 and they shared sixty-two
wonderful years together.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband,
Homer; four children, Judi (Mike)
Kitchens, Denise (Tim) Huett, Michael
(Kathy) Brown, and Paula Sue (Ace) Gragg;
sisters Shirley Powell, Barbara Taylor, and
Mary Hyche. She was “Granny” to eleven
grandchildren, twenty-five greatgrandchildren,
and many extended family
members and friends.
Sue “Granny” Brown was devoted to her
family and supported, respected, and loved
them unconditionally. She took great pride
in her grandchildren and great grandchildren
and was loved and adored by each
one. Sue cherished her position as #2 of
the “Brasfield Sisters” and shared her
talents in sewing, cooking, painting, and
quilting with many throughout her life.
She was a long-time member of Dora First
Baptist Church believing in the power and
strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the
peace that would await her on her arrival
home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 14, 2018 at3:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel with Pastors Lee Taylor and Ken Mostella officiating. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Sunday from 1:30-3 pm at the funeral home.
