Carolyn (Smith) Berryman, age 88, passed away at her home on August 27, 2024. Carolyn was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church. She was a hard worker, working as a farmer most of her life. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved serving God, her church, and her family. Her meals were exceptional, especially her chocolate and biscuits.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Berryman, and her brother, Harold Wayman Smith.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Berryman (Dianne), and Glenda Garrett (Joe); her grandchildren, Wendy Vandiver (Patrick), Monica Berryman, Bryan Berryman (Beth), Whitney Nobles (Nathaniel).
Carolyn is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and beloved friends that will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville, Alabama, on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 12:00-2:00 PM. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM, with Bro. John Webb and Bro. Bobby Amos holding the service.
Pallbearers include: Ronnie Jeffreys, Terrell Jeffreys, Bradley Smith, Brandon Smith, Lee Jeffreys, and Bailey Vandiver.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that all donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
