Carolyn Wright Profile Photo  Carolyn Ruth Cooper Wright, 83, of Myrtle, MS passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Victory Church in New Albany MS. A second visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Victory Church sanctuary officiated by Reverend Mark Bishop and Reverend Bob Pugh.

Carolyn was born on June 16, 1940 to Paul Cooper and Lena Bonds Cooper in Myrtle, MS. She graduated from Myrtle High School and attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. She was married to Charles Wright on February 7, 1964. Carolyn worked for many years at Merit Trucking and New Albany Airport. She was also a homemaker who devoted her time to raising her four children.

Carolyn was an active member of Victory Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She also held several other positions within the church including a teacher at the Christian School teaching Kindergarten and First grade. She had a passion for flower gardening, cooking, and bird watching.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lena Cooper, and siblings, Eugene Cooper, James Cooper, and Dianne Bolen.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Charles Wright; daughters Rhonda Kraft (Michael) of Sherwood, AR, Phyllis Taylor of Myrtle, MS; Ginger Carter of Pontotoc, MS; son Jonathan Wright (Layla) of Myrtle, MS, sisters Joann Carson of Cordova TN., Norma Coltharp (Leroy) of Myrtle MS., Kay Phillips of Southaven MS., Barbara Pugh (Bob) of New Albany MS., Cheri Voyles (Rex) of New Albany MS, and brother Ronnie Cooper, (Betty) of Southaven MS; seven grandchildren Chelsea Lott (Robert), Sydney Freeman (Michael), Jasmine Cates (Cody), Cooper Carter, Riana Hood, Michele Glover (Jason) and Paul Kraft. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Logan Reed Steele, River Lee Cates, and Shelby Quinn Glover. Additionally, she is survived by a special niece Angela Orman (Scotty), great-niece Annie Orman, and a host of other nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers are Stephen Nolen, Paul Voyles, Brandon Voyles, Cooper Carter, Scotty Orman, and Jason Yarbrough.

Carolyn’s care has been entrusted to Glenfield Funeral Home. Carolyn will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.
