Carolyn Madewell Jones Carolyn Madewell Jones, age 84, a resident of Nashville, TN and previously of McMinnville, TN died Tuesday, April 06, 2021 at her residence. She was born April 29, 1936 in Bone Cave, TN and was retired from St. Thomas Hospital as a medical transcriptionist. Carolyn led an interesting life. As a young lady, she was part of the 1952-1953 Van Buren County High School Girls’ Basketball Team. She was considered a ‘Cook Extraordinaire’ – everyone loved her cooking and she greatly enjoyed preparing food and having her family friends relish the finished product; and was especially known for having the best cornbread around. Carolyn was a court reporter for the Middle Tennessee area during the early 1970’s through the late 1980’s, she was a catering supervisor for over 10 years with Opryland Hotel where she got to meet many country music stars, and she highly enjoyed socializing. She loved her horse racing, liked traveling, and was fond of watching game shows just as her father did.

Carolyn is survived by her sons Kenneth Allen (Patricia) Jones of Cookeville, TN and Kyle Austin Jones of Fort Lauderdale, FL, grandsons Justin Trent (Kenna) Smith and Gavin Austin Jones, great grandchildren Nash Austin Brewer Jones and Hallie Rose Ellen Smith, special nephews, and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Reba Raper Madewell and sister Cornelia Madewell Robinson.

Graveside service and interment is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Crain Hill Cemetery. Gavin Jones will officiate. Family and close friends will meet at the cemetery.
