Graveside services for Carolyn Lett Thomas, age 84 of Ashland, will be held on Monday July 3rd at 2:00 P.M. at Ashland City Cemetery with Rev. Mark Kytan officiating. There will be no Public viewing prior to services.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Clay County, Alabama and lived here all of her life. In high school she enjoyed playing basketball. At a young age, She was a secretary at her parents garment plant in Crossville. She eventually began working at Citi Bank, and for which she eventually became Vice President of her bank. She retired after 15 years from the banking industry and began doing what she loved the most, spending time and cooking for her family. Some of her favorite meals to cook were; pecan pie, fried chicken, sausage balls, fried green tomatoes, biscuits, plus any other meal her family would request. Her sisters were a big part of her life as well and they loved spending time together and even built a cabin together in the Smoky Mountains that they named the “5 Queens” cabin. In her spare time, she loved doing crossword puzzles. She was also an avid Alabama fan and loved watching football and basketball. She loved to travel and would spend part of the year in Florida but she always made sure to come back home to make sure her gardening was done and her grass was cut.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her daughter, Teresa Thomas McDonald (Bruce) of Orlando, FL; her son Brandt Radney “Rad” Thomas Jr. of Bremen, GA; her grandchildren: Brandon McDonald, Wesley McDonald (Sarah), Tara McDonald, Alex McDonald, Auburn Thomas Mobley (Jake); her great grandchildren, Presley, Willow, and Juniper; her sisters Evelyn McCrelles of Alexandria and Peggy Jordan (Jimmy) of Barfield, plus numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Brandt Radney Thomas Sr.; her second husband, Harold Higgins; 2 sisters, Geraldine Bright and Norma Kirk; a brother, Donnie Lett.
Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
