Carolyn Lea Tims Washington, age 76 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bridgeport, Alabama on December 10, 1946, to the late Rufus Nolan and Mildred Madeline (Green) Tims. Before her retirement, Carolyn was employed at AEDC for thirty-two years as a purchasing agent. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed cheering for the University of Tennessee Vols. She also enjoyed doing needlework and crocheting. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bud” Washington; sister, Martha Sharon “Susie” Bass; and son-in-law, Chris Hill. Carolyn is survived by her loving daughters, Leigh Washington of Winchester, and Carol (Michael) McGlynn of Murfreesboro; brothers, Wayne (Judy) Tims of Wildwood, Georgia, and Don Tims of Winchester; grandchildren, Ilissa Rankin (Dustin Brown), and Haley (Matt) Ogles; great-grandchildren, Lily Rankin, Brody Brown, Beaux Brown, Alex Brown, Savannah Brown, Everett Ogles, and Miles Ogles; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
