Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Jean Kyle, age 83, will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Gibson County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kyle, a retired employee of Proctor & Gamble, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, to NHC Milan, TN.
Mrs. Kyle is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Opal Mathenia; a daughter, Tammy Patterson; a granddaughter, Leah Nelson; four sisters, May Graves, Rebecca White, Marie Hatchett, and Sarah Bennett; and by four brothers, Pete Mathenia, John Mathenia, Russell Mathenia, and Ray Mathenia.
Mrs. Kyle is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jerry Kyle; two sons, Jerry Kyle Jr. and wife Patty, and Gary Kyle; a daughter, Letha Pendergrass and husband Dean; a sister, Louise Watson; two brothers, Harry Mathenia and wife Shirley, and David Mathenia and wife Barbara; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
