Carolyn Horton was born in Frankston, Texas on September 4, 1940, the daughter of the late Hershel and Olza Ophelia (Teagie) Perry Dunn. On June 6, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lee Paulk Horton, Sr., who survives. Carolyn departed this life on November 12, 2017, at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 8 days.
Carolyn was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee. She loved to cook and boasted a collection of 2,000 cookbooks. Known as the matriarch of her family, Carolyn helped all of her family at all times. She was known as a very giving and special woman.
In addition to her husband, Carolyn is survived by her son, Lee Paulk Horton, Jr. and wife Ada of Gulf Breeze, Florida; brothers, Preston Dunn and Hershell Allie Dunn; a sister, Betty McCloud; a grandchild, Harmonie Lee Horton; and two great grandchildren, Journie Lee Seaton and Makenzie Louise Seaton.
Along with her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Ann Horton, and her sister, Barbara Morrison.
