Carolyn Hamilton Sizemore, 82, of Gadsden passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday at Crestwood Cemetery with Rev. Grady Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Mrs. Sizemore was born in Gadsden on April 11, 1939 to Frances and R.C. Hamilton, who both preceded her in death, as well as her husband, Larry Sizemore.

She was a graduate of Gadsden High School and Jacksonville State University. She taught school for 34 years with the majority of her tenure at General Forrest Middle School.

Mrs. Sizemore had served as organist at Bellevue United Methodist Church for over 20 years.

Survivors include her sister, Patsy Hamilton; son, Chad Sizemore and wife Allison and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be Steve Gilbert, Kim Gilbert, Don Martin, Lanny Lankford, Gage Reynolds, Jim Horne, Leon Hare, Ken Swaringen an David Roland.

The family extends a special thanks to the Staff with Amedysis Hospice and caregiver, Terry Keenum and staff.
