Carolyn H Beck  Mrs. Carolyn H. Beck, age 83 and formerly of Dothan, died Saturday April 20, 2024 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Beck was born May 9, 1940 in Bay County, FL, to the late Wilmer C. and Sybil West Harrell.

Mrs. Beck was a resident of Wellington, Alabama for the past forty years. She proudly served as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator at Extendicare Nursing Home in Dothan and then moved to Calhoun County Alabama in 1980 where she owned an operated Beckwood Manor Health Care for 36 years. She retired in 2016 after selling her facility to Nolan Health Services, Inc in 2016. She served as the First Lady of the Grand Lodge of F& AM of Alabama 2022-2023. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars as well as the East Alabama Shrine Ladies Club. Mrs. Beck was the former “Ms. Slocomb” representing Slocomb High School (AL) in 1956.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Charles Harrell and Paul Harrell. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, LTC (Ret) Rusty Beck, daughter Sheila (Troy) Barnes, and three sons: MAJ (Ret) Clayton (Marykaren) Cox, Rusty Beck II, and Jason Beck, all of Wellington, AL.; three grandchildren: Troy (Tracy) Barnes, Jr. of Wellington, Morgan Cox (Blake) Jennings of Pleasant Valley, AL., Gabriel Cox of Wellington, and Rayne Beck of Gulf Shores, Alabama; three great grandchildren: Ethan Barnes, Eli Barnes and Miles Jennings. Several nephews and nieces; Paul West, James West, Rusty Harrell, Dusty Harrell Guess, Dina Short, Trina Pettis and long time sister-in-law, Linda Beck. Special friends include; Claudette Anderson, Nancy Carey, Juanita Bryant, Nancy King and Katie Murphy.

Funeral service and burial time will be announced at a later date.
