Carolyn Gene Helton, 82, of Corinth passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at her home in Corinth surrounded by her family. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Born February 26, 1942 in Kossuth, MS ., Carolyn was a retired Registered Nurse. She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church but actively attended Life Gate Freewill Baptist Church. Carolyn loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and visiting people and cooking for everyone. Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Dooley and Trista Smith (Kim); 4 grandchildren, Meghan McGee (Chase), Dakota Dooley (Grace), Mikayla Smith and Blakney Smith; 4 great grandchildren, Taryn McGee, Tynlee McGee, Tessa McGee and Elias Dooley; brother, Richard Barnes and sisters, Nellie Spence and Shirley Mask (Buddy); other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her 2nd husband Worley Helton; her 1st husband and father of her children, Abe Blakney; father, Marvin Garrett; mother, Mittie Lee Barnes; brothers, Malcolm Garrett and Rubel Barnes. In Lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial donations in Carolyn’s memory by made to her favorite charity, St. Jude.
