Carolyn AmmonsCarolyn Crihfield Ammons, 92 of Ripley passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Asbury Cove Assisted Living Center.  Mrs. Ammons was a member of First Baptist Church, Ripley where she was a member of the church choir and served as Sunday School Teacher of the Ruth class.

She earned her master’s degree in Education from Memphis State University, later serving in the Lauderdale County School System as teacher, guidance counselor and career ladder coordinator.  Mrs. Ammons was a member of The Thursday Evening Musicale and The Ada Nixon Book Club.

Mrs. Ammons was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Ammons.  She is survived by her sister, Dorothy C. Cullipher; her nieces Carol C. Walker (Charles), Kathy C. Jackson (Ed), and Kaye Burkett (Cliff); nephews Talmage L. Crihfield, Jr. (Latricia) and David L. Cullipher and 11 grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 PM on Tuesday, August 27 at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on August 28 in Maplewood Cemetery.
