Carole Ann Roberts-Smith

Mrs. Carole Ann Roberts-Smith, age 81 of Lineville, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. A memorial service may be planned for a later date.

Mrs. Carole was born on June 29, 1943 in the Highland community of Clay County to Theron L. and Mozell Miller Roberts. She graduated from Lineville High School in 1961, and attended Jacksonville State University before moving to New Orleans, Louisiana. She began to work for Bell Telephone Company, started as an operator and worked her way up to a manager. She eventually moved to Birmingham and worked for Bell South as a training manager for the Birmingham and Atlanta region. She retired from Bell South, and then lived in several locations, including Blount Springs, Al, Panama City Beach, FL, and finally back in Lineville in the house she grew up in. Mrs. Carole loved her church family at First Baptist Church in Ashland, where she was a member. She also loved her pets, having many dogs and cats. Mrs. Carole was married to Mr. Terrell Smith, who passed away on December 4, 2022. Mrs. Carole desired to have her ashes spread on the trails of Chaeha Mountain range, north of her home.

Mrs. Roberts-Smith is survived by her brother, Jim Roberts of Lineville; her nephews: Chris Roberts (Melissa), William Roberts (Lauren), Daniel Roberts, and Todd Roberts; and Terrell’s Children: Casey Lee (Tim) and Richard Smith Jr.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Jesse and Lara Miller; her parents: Theron L. and Mozell Miller Roberts; her husband, Terrell Smith; and her Aunt and Uncle, Fred and Polly Whatley.
