Carol Souder, age 69 of Pelham, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 1, 1953 in Franklin County to the late Gordon and Virginia Taylor. Carol was a hard worker and the rock of the family. When she was younger, she picked cotton on the family farm. She loved to paint and collect Indian figurines, roosters, and the little red Christmas trucks. Carol also loved to decorate and could make anywhere feel like home. She was a loving mother and nanny, who loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. She will be remembered as a loving, strong, and stubborn women. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Souder; daughter, Dusty Gilliam; siblings, Parker Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Charlotte Marlow, and Sherry Braizer. She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Jessie) Gilliam and Angie (Eugene) Barrett; eight grandchildren, Tiffany (Dewayne) Roberts, Scotty (Cheyenne) Gilliam, Tyler Barrett, Toby (Tasha) Gilliam, Dustin (Harley) Gilliam-Wright, Brianna Gilliam, Dusty Gilliam, and Christopher Gilliam; 6 great- grandchildren, Jayden Hutcheson, Nevaeh Gilliam, Alexus Gilliam, Frankie Gilliam, Benjie Gilliam and Daisy Gilliam; siblings, Debra Ward, Gail Philpot, and Mike Taylor; many nieces and nephews.
