Carol Lynn Holt, age 83 of Estill Springs, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Trenton, New Jersey on December 13, 1940, to the late George Bishop and Mildred Everett. Carol worked as a clerk for Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma. The following is an exert from Carol’s own words as her and husband, Roger, were currently living in Phoenix: “A man that Roger and I met in Phoenix told us about a job that he had left at AEDC in Tullahoma. We both applied and were hired, I as a clerk and Roger as a machinist-welder. While working at AEDC, I finally got a promotion to secretary. I continued working there for 24 years and 6 months, when I retired in 2002. After my retirement, I operated Carol’s Typing Service from our home.” Carol loved genealogy, spending time with her family, hockey, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers and Tennessee Titans. She loved her church, Faith Baptist, and was the only founding member left since the church was started in 1976. The following is an exert from Carol’s own words: “I am a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Estill Springs, Tennessee and have been since 1976. I am the only original member still attending. I taught Sunday School for several years and am still actively singing in the choir. God has blessed me throughout my life.” In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Holt; brother-in-law, Henry Flutka; and nephews and nieces, Elizabeth (Steve) Zacarillo, and Henry Flutka. Carol is survived by her daughter, Hope Frasier (Michael Phillips); stepson, Joesph Holt; stepsister, Kathy Holt (Roger Taylor); sister, Doris Ruebeck Flutka; grandson, Andrew Stephen Ghea; granddaughter, Ashley Miranda Wilson; step-grandchildren, Dustin (Tiffany) Fraiser, Warren Scott (Natalie) Fraiser, Jessica Frasier (Marshall) Brown; twelve great-grandchildren; and nephew and nieces, Scott Waldt, Mae Ross, Cheryl Anne (Mike) Palacios, Mary Flutka, and Ruthann (Bob) Garner. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 11am-1pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1pm on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Brother Shane Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.
