Carol Gene Flowers LymanCarol Gene Flowers Lyman, age 73, beloved wife of Bob Lyman, and a resident of Toney, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at her residence.

 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Larry Flowers officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Santa Fe Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on September 4, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee, Carol was the daughter of the late Homer Flowers and the late Lillie Kelley Flowers. She dedicated several years of her career to Harrison Systems in Nashville, where she met her future husband, Bob Lyman. They married on September 10, 1987, in Hawaii and subsequently made their home in Alabama. Carol committed the remainder of her professional life to their home business, assembling printed circuit cards for Paul C. Buff Inc.

 

Carol was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and baking. She cherished every flower gifted to her, and her greatest hobby was gardening and taking care of her MANY potted plants.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Tereasa (Mark) Bowers of White Bluff, TN, brother, Larry (Mary) Flowers of Shelbyville, TN, sisters, Cynthia Wherry of Nashville, TN, Debra (John) McClure of Nashville, TN, grandchildren, Kyle (Rachel Bellamy) Bowers, Austin Bowers, Cody Lyman, Zach Lyman, and great grandchildren, Lucy, Bentley, and Evelynn, and many nieces and nephews.

 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Lyman.

 

Those serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Bowers, Austin Bowers, Bob Lyman, Cody Lyman, Zach Lyman, and Mark Bowers.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Alabama Childrens Hospital of Alabama, 1600 7th Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233.
