Carol Ann Lowery, 55, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, in Huntsville, Alabama, surrounded by her family. Born on February 14, 1969, in Birmingham, Alabama, she was a loving daughter, wife, and mother.
Carol Ann graduated from Cullman High School in 1988. She was a passionate lover of all animals, especially cats, and found great joy in being in or around any body of water, particularly the pool. She and her husband, James Butler, shared 16 wonderful years together.
Carol Ann is survived by her husband, James Butler; daughter, Elizabeth Ann McAfee; father, Robert Welles Lowery (Gail); mother, Ann Cantrell Ros; brother, Robert Welles Lowery, Jr.; stepsister, Bridget Ros (John Johnson); and half-sister, Stephanie Newton (Chris). She was preceded in death by her beloved “Pop”, Buster Ros, who was a guiding presence throughout her life.
A memorial service will be held on July 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. Visitation will take place on the same date from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to A New Leash on Life Animal Rescue or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Carol Ann’s memory.
