Carnice Noble Howard

It is with regret we announce the passing of Command Sgt. Major (Ret.) Carnice Noble Howard, age 75, of Huntsville, AL, formerly of Fayetteville, TN. Mr. Howard was born on Dec. 14, 1944 in Jarvis, Ky to the late Clark Edward Howard I and Elizabeth Howard. He was a loving father, son and very devoted husband for 56 years to his wife Betty Howard.

Betty and Noble married Aug 31, 1963 and Noble enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1973 serving for more then 22 years. While in the Army he obtained the Army’s highest enlisted rank of Command Sargent Major. During his service they spent years overseas in Europe and traveled extensively. He also worked as Greyhound bus driver for many years among several other jobs. He recently worked for Hackbarth delivery services where he made many friends. He enjoyed his family, classic cars and even owned and operated an antique firetruck that may have been seen in parades in Huntsville Alabama or even in Lincoln County TN. He never met a stranger and had stories to share with all. He was truly loved and respected by many.

He is survived by wife Betty Howard; sons, Clark (Himeko) Howard of San Diego, CA, and Kaven (Linda) Howard of Huntsville, AL; his beloved pet Sandy; grandchildren, Andrew (Candra) Hoeppner, Phillip (Tabbatha) Hoeppner, Cody Land, Johnathan (Casey) Howard, Christina Howard, Destiny Howard, and Aliyah Howard; great-grandchildren, Chloee Hoeppner, Maverick Hoeppner, Claridy Hoeppner and Ramsey Howard. In addition to his parents, Noble was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Faye Prince.

Service times will be announced on Monday by Higgins Funeral Home.
