Carlton Bernard Egson, lovingly known as CaCa, was born October 5, 1962 in Florence, Alabama.
He grew up in the church. He attended Saint Paul AME Church, Florence, Alabama. He later joined First Baptist Church, Huntsville, Alabama.
He graduated from Coffee High School in 1981. He attended Wallace State Community College, Hanceville, AL where he earned a degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.
He worked for Compak/Store-N-Deli, Sunrise Lodge Substance Abuse Treatment Center, Russellville, Alabama and Rehabilitation Centers in Atlanta, Georgia and Florence, AL. It has always been his dream to become a business owner. In 2002 he opened CaCa’s Wings & Things, Florence, Alabama.
He had a passion for motivational speaking. He volunteered his time to encourage and uplift patients at Bradford Health Services, Huntsville, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Azilee Marian Egson; his father, Elmore Egson Jr.; and brother, Raymond (Ray Ray) Louis Egson.
Carlton leaves to cherish his memories, two loving children: Raymond Bernard Egson, Huntsville, Alabama and Akeeta Jaz Barnaby, Honolulu Hawaii; his mother: Mildred Ann Egson, Florence, Alabama; one sister: Nancy Smith, Huntsville, Alabama; 3 brothers: Ronald (Helen) Egson, Athens, Alabama; Walter (Peggy) Anderson, McMinnville, Tennessee; Stuart (Vyhyahn) Egson, McDonough, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Everyone that knew him, loved him. He was a gentle man full of humor. He relished in making others laugh……….a comedian at heart. Words of enlightenment came so easy for him. We will remember his jolly smile. Let’s us celebrate his life and give thanks to God for sharing him with us.
