Carlos Ray Smith age 66, passed away May 10, 2023, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Carlos was a Van Buren County native born on December 17, 1956, to the late Carl Smith and Anna Lou Simmons Haston. He was a 1975 graduate from Van Buren County high school. Carlos was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.
Carlos is survived by daughters; Dana Smith and Crystal (Stacy) Mills of Spencer, sister; Emma Faye Sweat of Cookeville, grandchildren, Caden (Carlsey) Mills of Cookeville and Cara Mills of Spencer, nieces; Allison Brady of Cookeville, Deidre (Josh Somes) Brady of Memphis, Ashley (A.J.) James of Lewisburg, Caitlin Brady of Cookeville, a large extended family also survives.
Per his wishes Carlos will be cremated, and a graveside service will be held at 3:00pm May 21, 2023 at Laurel Creek Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating.
In leiu of flowers the family requests assistance with the cost of the cremation.
