Carlos Ray Fowler, 86, of Jasper, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, at Brookwood Medical Center.
The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, from noon until 1 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Union Chapel Cemetery. Bryan Richardson will officiate.
Ray was a graduate of Cordova High School, where he was an All-State linebacker with an offer from Livingston University to play football. Instead of pursuing his collegiate football career, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He retired with 20 years of service, with the rank of master sergeant. He and June returned to Jasper, where he later retired from Pinnacle Bank after 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Edna Fowler; and brothers, Curtis Fowler and J.W. Fowler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, June Fowler; son, Kevin Fowler (Shea); grandchildren, Ashford Fowler and Ansley Fowler; brother, Larry Fowler (Patricia); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
