Carla Jean Gueringer Polk of Oxford, MS passed away December 11, 2023. Her family has been with her during this brief, yet aggressive battle with cancer.
She was born to the late Earl and Geneva Gueringer, September 14, 1961 in Oakdale, Louisiana. Carla graduated from Oakdale High School in 1979. She went on to earn a degree from McNeese State University and later graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with her master’s degree. She was an educator for 31 years, 28 of those years in the East Central School District in which she served at three different buildings. Ellen Elizabeth, Geneva Grace, and Lucy Lewis will remember their “CC” as a loving and caring grandmother who forwent an active retirement in order to provide them with the best care possible. She has many other family and friends who will cherish her memory.
