Carl “Wayne” Burnett, age 71 of Empire, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at a family residence.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Little Vine Cemetery in Empire. Wesley Slaton will officiate.
Mr. Burnett was preceded in death by his Father-Cecil Burnett; Mother-Melba Burnett; Brothers-Albert Burnett, Lonnie Burnett and David Burnett; Sister-Sue Pelt.
He is survived by his Mother of his children-Joyce Marie Burnett; Daughter-Towanna Glaze (Clinton) of Jasper; Sons-Shannon Glaze (Leighanne) of Mississippi, John Paul Burnett of Cordova, Joshua Wayne Burnett of Cordova, Samuel James Burnette (Marly) of Vinemont and Lury Jacob Burnett of Cordova; Sisters-Virginia Huddleston of Empire, Charlotte Pickett of Dora and Tina Poore of Oakman; Brothers-Lee Burnett of Kentucky and Buddy Burnett of Mississippi; A host of other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.
