Carl Stephen “Steve” Batson, age 67, of Orlinda, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024 at his home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Joe Batson officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Adam Batson, Derrick Sparti, Matt Covington, Enoch Batson, Maddox Batson, Alex Batson, Mark Blakemore, and Brandon Covington serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9am until the hour of service at 11am.
Mr. Batson was born January 29, 1957 in Ashland City, TN to the late William Alec and Ollie Beatrice Sensing Batson. He was a Master Carpenter, and could build anything including homes and cabinetry and he was a member of the Orlinda Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Batson is preceded in death by his son, Chad Stephen Batson, his brother, Dewey Allen Batson, and his sister, Sharron Gail Batson.
Mr. Batson is survived by his fiancé, Pamela Hulsey Carter of Orlinda; sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Salina Batson of Brentwood, Adam Chase Batson of Springfield, and Enoch Alexander Batson, of Lake Wylie, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie Jo and Mark Blakemore of Spicewood, TX; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Billy and Jean Batson, Jerry and Vicky Batson, and Joe and Jennifer Batson; sisters, Mable Gill and Maia Sparti; and grandchildren, Maddox Batson, Loren Yates, Liza Batson, Makailah Jo Taylor, Kennedy Jane Taylor, Ryleigh Cook, Natalie Covington, Johnny Covington, and Alexander Batson.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
