Col. Carl Richard “Dick” Steimle (Ret.), 83, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Alma Steimle; and his parents, Carl and Irene Steimle. He was a graduate of the US Military Academy and earned a Masters from the University of Southern California. He studied further in the Industrial College of Armed Forces, and served two tours in Vietnam.
Survivors include his daughters, Carol Anne Cutler (Mike) and Susan Roberts (Tim); brother, John David Steimle; grandchildren, Riley, Hayden, Lindsay and Paul; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, immediately followed by the service in the chapel. Interment will be at West Point Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
