Mr. Carl Ray Mathis age 81 of McMinnville, TN, died Monday, May 02, 2022, at his home. He was born on March 10, 1941, in McMinnville, TN, was a retired carpenter and sheetrock worker, was meticulous about his yardwork, enjoyed woodworking and making furniture through the years, and was a member of the Ivy Bluff Church of Christ. Mr. Mathis was preceded in death by his parents Ed Clayton and Tamar Agnes Certain Mathis and brother James Houston Mathis.
Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years Sarah Miller Mathis, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Lorene Holland, Ruby Allred, Mary Stone, Raymond Miller, and Diane Miller, several nieces and nephews, and special niece Kitty Mick.
Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 02, 2022 at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Brian Reed will officiate. Interment will follow at Ivy Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at McMinnville Funeral Home.
