Carl McKenzie Crawford, Jr., 85, departed this realm to the great beyond from Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. Carl was a learned lawyer of much renown and brilliance, graduating # 1 in his law school class from Rutgers. He spent most of his working adult life in Pittsburg, PA before coming to Tupelo in 2016 to be near his daughter, Genna McAlpin, after the death of his wife, Patricia Ann Crawford in 2013. He spent much of his legal career researching the law for judges around the country. He was a patriotic American serving in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.

A reception honoring Mr. Crawford’s life and work will be celebrated from 4 PM to 6 PM Monday at The Parsonage, 220 North Church St., Tupelo, MS. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to serve the family. A detailed obituary may be found at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Obits.

Counselor Crawford is survived by his daughter, Genevieve “Genna” McAlpin of Tupelo and his son, Geoffrey Colin Crawford of Pittsburg, PA; his beloved grandchildren, Zayn Crawford, Emmet Crawford Arlo Crawford, Liam McAlpin, and Brooke McAlpin; a sister, Marianna May (Tom); and all their families.
