A Celebration of Life for Mr. Carl Marell Jackson, 53 of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Decatur, Alabama will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2023 at Christ Temple Holiness Church with Minister Scottie Bolden officiating and Dr. Chinetha Baker, host pastor. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral service with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.

Carl Marell Jackson was born in Hillsboro, Alabama on January 3, 1971 to the late Carl Lener Jackson and Annie Jones Jackson. He departed this life on February 26, 2024 at his home in Louisville, Kentucky.

His early education was in the Lawrence County School System and he later graduated from Decatur High School in 1988.

Carl was baptized at an early age in the name of Jesus by the late Bishop A.C. Strong and was a member of The Pentecostal House of Prayer.

He was preceded in death by: his father; his brother, Deshun Hampton; and his sister, Jeannine McDaniel.

Carl leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Annie Jones Jackson-Stover; four sisters, Tamatha Jones, Kimberly Hampton, Katrina Hampton and Crystal McDaniel all of Decatur, AL; one daughter, Clara Hammond, Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Averi, Chance and Ariell of Huntsville, AL; seven aunts, Brenda Pointer, Carolyn Mason, Marilyn Robinson, Cynthia (Bill) Johnson, Jennifer (Rance Sr.)Sutherlin all of Decatur, AL, Wanda (Richard) Mason, Mattie (Willie) Birt both of Hillsboro, AL; one uncle, Jerome Miller; a great aunt, Dr. Kay Miller-Pride; special friend, Melissa Alexander; chosen kids, Troy, Lanaya and Trinidy McLemore; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews;devoted cousin, Marcus Thompson; devoted friend, Jock Taylor, other cousins, relatives and friends.

Carl was always the life of the party. The family knew him as “Moot”. The streets knew him as “Carl-Mac” and he was well-loved by all. We will miss you Moot-Rest Easy.
