Carl L. Compton – Obituary

carlCarl L. Compton, 84, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015, at Keller Landing. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Mckell officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery.
Carl attended Florence State College and Auburn University and volunteered for CASA, Florence police department, and the Shoals area cropwalk. He worked at Reynolds for 40 years retiring as a chief chemist. A member of Westminister Presbyterian Church, he also enjoyed farming and attending Auburn football games – War Eagle!
Survivors include his sons, Ricky Compton (Kathy), Donald Compton (Pam), and William Compton; grandchildren, Michelle Compton Fuller (Shaun), Carl Andrew Compton, and Taylor R. Compton; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Compton and Kyleigh Fuller; three nieces; and special dog, Chief.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Compton, parent, Richard and Willie Compton, and brother, Richard M. Compton.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
