Mr. Carl “J.R.” Smith, Jr., age 43, of Fairview Cove Road, Altoona, Alabama, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at UAB Medical Center.
Funeral service will be Thursday, April 21, 2016, Three o’clock p.m. at McRae Chapel with interment to follow in the Friendship Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith was born in Alabama on May 8, 1972 to Carl Smith, Sr. and Jean Hill Smith. He was a warehouse manager with the Army.
Mr. Smith is survived by his Wife: Angela Smith of South Carolina, Son: Joel Van Smith of South Carolina, Parents: Carl Smith, Sr. of Altoona and Jean & Darrell Childress of Albertville, Sister & Brother-in-Law: Pam & Gary Stanfield of Altoona, Step-Sister: Kim Davis, Step-Brother: Scott Childress and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ross McClure, Jonathan Bennett, Gary Mitchell, Jonathan Stanfield, and Daryl Reneau.
