Carl H. Williams II, passed away in his mountain home on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anna Johnston and Frank Thomas Wells Williams.
He leaves behind his wife Shelley Doss Williams and a house full of cats. He also leaves his sister Claire Williams (and “Fizz”), who reside in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Other family members include a cousin, Tonny Dell Orfano, a sister-in-law Jennifer Foster and husband Chris; numerous nieces and nephews; Nic Sanford, Blake Foster, Braxton Foster, Elizabeth Williams Murphy, Christy McGraw, Wells Williams, and Emily Clark – with whom he shared a love for bad horror movies, Vincent Price, and “dipped chocolate cones.”
Carl attended St. Joseph’s on the Mountain and was supported and loved by both his church, and the community of Mentone, Alabama.
He was a chemist and worked for the City of Trion, Georgia at their water treatment plant. He considered his co-workers, not only as friends, but family. He was supported by them throughout his illness.
A memorial service will be held at a later date; through acts of kindness is the best way to pay respects.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is making the announcement.
