Carl Guilford Sloan age 77 passed away December 14, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born September 14, 1938 at Jackson, TN the son of the late Guilford Pin and Nellie B. McMinn Sloan. He attended Madison County schools. He married Peggy Sue Bennett of Jackson. They made their home in South Jackson all their married life. He worked for the Madison County School System at the bus barn at Bemis. Mrs. Sloan passed away December 7, 2007. He was a member of the Pleasant Springs United Methodist Church. He had made his home at the Laurelwood Nursing Home the past few years.
Mr. Sloan is survived by two sons, Mike Sloan and wife Teresa of Medon and Tim Sloan and wife Janice of Jackson; four grandchildren, and three sisters, Polly McNeil of Finger, Mamie Ruth Taylor of Jackson and Mildred Rushing of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son in 1967; his wife Peggy Bennett Sloan in 2007 and a sister Eunice Smith.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors β Casey Chapel with burial in Pleasant Springs Cemetery near Pinson, TN.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Shackelford β Casey Chapel.
