Carl Edward “Ed” Blakney, 91, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center- Iuka. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in Korea. After his time in the Army, Ed was a truck driver and loved every minute of it. He drove his truck until he was well into his 80s. When he wasn’t out on the road, he liked to spend his time with his family and his beloved dog. Ed enjoyed everything Nascar, racing, farming, and gardening, and you would not see him without a Dr. Pepper in his hand. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Rose Blakney; his children, Lisa Maik (Gregory), Donald Blakney (Helen), and Rose Pendleton; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; his nephew, James Ray Blakney; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva May “Eaver” and James “Jim” Blakney; his daughter, Joyce Pendleton; and his brothers, William, Estes, and Kenneth Blakney. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen, MS. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen, MS. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
