Carl Bennett Seavers Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at his home in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born on December 9, 1940, in Cedar Grove, Tennessee to Carl Bennett Seavers Sr. and Thelma Cathleen Jennings Seavers. Carl was a graduate of Trezevant High School class of 1958 followed by Draughons Jr. College in 1959.
In life, Carl was a man of many talents. All of his hard work led him to be a Chief Financial Officer at Wyle Laboratories before his retirement. Outside of work, Carl was well known as a golfer to his many friends and family members. You could find him on the beautiful course and range at the Valley Hill Country Club where he had shot three holes in one during his years, not that you would find him boasting to anyone. He was also a proud supporter of the Tennessee Volunteers, successful season or not. When it comes to baseball you could find him cheering on the LA Dodgers and the Brooklyn Dodgers. While at home he would enjoy his time in the back yard on the porch that he and lifelong friend, Ronald Coleman, built while tending to his garden of tomatoes, okra, and roses, and enjoying the sunlight with his little dogs Chi Chi and Yoda.
Carl was loved by many people in his life, if possible, too many to count. He is preceded in death by his father Carl Bennett Seavers Sr., mother Thelma Kathleen Jennings Seavers, and loving wife of 52 years Dorothy Elizabeth Grubbs Seavers.
In his many years, Carl was known to many as a friend, husband, father, grandfather, boss, golf buddy, and poker player. Carl is survived by his loving wife Jimmie Seavers; sons, Carl Michael Seavers and his wife Sherry Seavers of Huntsville, Alabama; Gregory Bennett Seavers and his wife Dr. Victoria Anne Bilz Seavers of Oviedo, Florida; sisters, Carol S. Thomas and Lorraine S. Kruger. Besides his wife, sons, and sisters, Carl is also survived by his four grandchildren Brandi Seavers, Natalie Seavers, Caitlyn Alexis Seavers, and William Gregory Bennett Seavers. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins that make up his adoring family.
Family and friends are invited to attend for visitation on July 1, 2020, at 11 am with a service following at 1 pm officiated by Pastor Ronnie Coleman of Jackson, Tennessee nephew of Carl and Dorothy Seavers. Visitation and service will be located at Valhalla Funeral Home 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL 35811. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association.
