Carl Douglas Wilson, age 80 of Tullahoma, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife of fifty years.
Georgia Mae (Taylor) Wilson, age 81 of Tullahoma passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, where she could be with her husband eternally.
Carl was born on December 5, 1944, in Huntland, TN, to the late Jack and Annie Mae (Putman) Wilson. Georgia was born on April 19, 1943, in Nashville, TN, to the late Ross and Mattie Lou (Walker) Taylor.
After Carl graduated high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guards and the police academy. Carl previously worked for Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee State Prison, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, and retired from the Tennessee Correctional Academy. Following retirement, he continued supporting his community by running for constable in Coffee County up until his passing. Carl was an avid John Deer and gun collector.
After Georgia graduated high school, she went on to become a Pharmacy Tech. Following her retirement, she was passionate about playing horseshoes, working word puzzles, swimming and supporting her husband during his time as constable.
Together they enjoyed watching older westerns which included Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Litte Cowboy and anything with John Wayne.
They will be remembered by all who knew they as a loving and devoted couple, who loved their family unconditionally.
In addition to their parents, they is preceded in death by their siblings, Kathleen “Kathy” Garner, Bernice Putman Russell Wilson and John Wilson Jr., Ross (Marie) Taylor Jr., M, and Lewis (Louis) Taylor. They are survived by their daughter, Carla Wilson (Chad Short); grandchildren, Nicole Wilson (Mason Wilcox) and Landon (Lacy) Hunt; great-grandchildren, Noelle, Kayden, Grayson, Savannah, Gage, Landon Jr, and London; her brother, Roger (Judy) Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 1:00pm from the chapel.
