Candis Daree Winstead – Obituary

Candis Daree Winstead, 82, of Rogersville, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017. Mrs. Winstead was a teacher at Brilliant High School in Brilliant, Alabama for 25 years and a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 2-3 p.m. with funeral following at 3 p.m. Burial will be held at Civitan Cemetery. Reverend Jeremiah Gibbs will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Lucas Hale, Jeremiah Gibbs, Bobby Howard, John Wilson Jr., Steve Chilton, and Joseph Wilson.

Mrs. Winstead was preceded in death by her parents, Rob and Candis Wilson; and brother, Wayne Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gerald Winstead; daughter, Kelly (Mark) Johnson; son, Mark (Kathy) Winstead; grandchildren, Candis (Lucas) Hale, Sarah (Jeremiah) Gibbs, Seth (Julie) Winstead, Bonnie (James) Mitchell, Anna and Sam Winstead; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Patsy) Wilson, Larry (Charlotte) Wilson and Martin (Jean) Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
