Funeral service for Calvin Ray Terry, age 74, of Trinity, will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Jamin Grubbs officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Terry, who died Monday, September 11, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born July 24, 1949, in Alabama to Clarence Floyd Terry and Stella Prudence Fuller Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Harold Terry (Zera Mae), Felton Terry (Gracie Lee), Gordon Terry (Virginia), Dewey Terry (Judy), and Carl Terry; and two sisters, Betty Jean Morgan (Paul) and Marcy Sandlin (James); and three brothers-in-law, James Sandlin, Chester Lemmond, and Charles Cabler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Harris) Terry; son, Boone Terry; three daughters, Misty Terry (Jeff Wilkerson), Cassie Whitaker (Clark), and Shellie Waldrep (Gabe); brother, Buddy Terry (Flora Mae); three sisters, Merle Garrison (James), Melba Cabler, and Jimmie Lemmond; sister-in-law, Teresa Terry; and four grandchildren, Tanner Terry, Emma Waldrep, Lily Kate Terry, and Carsyn Whitaker.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Clay Kitchens, Bobby Suggs, James Jenkins, and The East Lawrence Jack’s round table board members.
