Mr. Calvin Holmes, age 91, of Arab, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mr. Holmes was born on October 15, 1927 to Tommie Wright Holmes & Annie Bell Mote Holmes. Mr. Holmes retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Arab Computer Club, Elks Club and the Gem Mineral Rock Association. He enjoyed genealogy research and watching Alabama Football.
Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife of 34 years, Daulis Holmes; son, Mike (Millie) Holmes; daughters, Gail Holmes, Debbie (Jack) Myers; step son, Larry McDonald, step daughter, Caroline (Douglas) Denney, Janet (Michael) Augg; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Tommie Wright Holmes & Annie Bell Mote Holmes.
Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Service details to be announced at a later date.
