Calvin Bennett Miles, 90, of Killen, AL passed away November 11, 2023 at North Alabama Medical Center. He was a member of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 9-11 a.m. at Florence Boulevard Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with Bill Bagents and Austin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksonburg Church of Christ Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Graham Miles, Christopher Jordan, Ben Englebert, Brad Lister, Zach Van Buren, Tyler Sherrod, Aaron Miles, and Mark Miles.
Mr. Miles was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Bennett Miles; parents, Christopher Columbus and Cora Butler Miles; siblings, Adine Miles Butler, Ellis Miles, Marie Miles Williams, Nellie Ruth Miles Powers, and Frances Miles Dennison.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Laverne Williams Miles; sons, Greg Miles (Karen Kirkland Miles); and Chris Miles (Leigh Ann Abernathy Miles); daughters, Janet Miles Lawson (Keith), and Jennifer Miles Sherrod (Stan); brothers, Arvel Miles, and Jim Miles; sister, Janie Miles Richardson; grandchildren, Haley Miles Jordan (Christopher), Hilary Miles Englebert (Ben), Graham Miles (Helen Lee Gresham Miles), Ashleigh Lawson Lister (Brad), Kayla Lawson Van Buren (Zach), Tyler Sherrod, Lyndsey Sherrod, Aaron Miles (Brittany Brown Miles) and Mark Miles; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miles loved woodworking, Alabama football, Atlanta Braves baseball, and was a supporter of youth sports. He was a girls’ softball coach for several years. He loved to sing, at all times and in all contexts.
