LAUDERDALE COUNTY – The local Republican Party announced this morning that it is seeking people who might want to run for a political office.
Here is the text of the release:
“The Lauderdale County Republican Party will be hosting a Candidate Recruitment Event for anyone interested in potentially running for office as a Republican or helping Republican candidates in current or future election cycles. The event will be located at the St. Florian Senior Center (81 St. Florian Rd, Florence) and will take place on Saturday, June 20th, from 9am until noon. Attendees will be educated on topics such as campaign finance regulations, qualifying fees, the various paperwork that will need to be filed, and other useful topics. The cost to attend the event is $10, which covers the cost of the materials provided to the attendees. At the end of the event, there will be an extended question and answer session where potential candidates and activists will be able to ask campaign-related questions to a panel of campaign consultants and party officials, as well as representatives from the Registrar’s office and the Secretary of State’s office. This event is open to the public, including the surrounding counties.
