FLORENCE-Calling all artists! Arts Alive, Northwest Alabama’s premiere visual arts festival, is accepting submissions for the juried show in beautiful Florence, Alabama on May 15th and 16th, 2021.
This call for entries is open to all artists who are 18 years of age or older, working in painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, textiles, mixed media, metal, clay, glass, jewelry, and photography.
Each year over $4,000 in prize money is awarded to artists in several categories across park and gallery participants. A non-refundable $30.00 jury and application fee is required at registration. Arts Alive 2021. Arts Alive is a project of the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts volunteers, and attracts hundreds of art and craft lovers from across the Southeast.

The Kennedy-Douglass Art Center Volunteers organize this popular annual event to raise funds for arts education in area schools and to support arts in the region. Each year approximately 120 artists sell and showcase their artwork in booths in the park during the third weekend in May. The Arts Alive gallery exhibition showcases artwork from approximately 80 artists for six weeks in May and June. Call 256-760-6379 for more information.
Located at 217 East Tuscaloosa Street in Florence, the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts is open, free of charge, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Sundays 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Museum programs are made possible, in part, by a grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts. The Arts Alive Festival is sponsored by the Kennedy-Douglass Art Center Volunteers.
