Byron D. Washington, 70, suddenly passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, joining his parents Edward and Marion Washington and his brother Edward Washington Jr. into eternal rest.
He leaves two brothers: Darwin (Adrienne) Washington, Huntsville, AL; and David (Monica) Washington, Vero Beach, FL; his sister-in-law: Andrea (Debbie) Washington, Silver Spring, MD; his nephews: Daniel Washington, Huntsville, AL; Edward Washington III (Alicia), Encino, CA and Zane Washington, Vero Beach, FL; nieces: Deresa Stroud, D’Andrea Stanard (Roland), Laurel, MD; Danika Washington, Offutt Air Force Base, Sarpy County, NE and Mercedes Washington, Vero Beach, FL; and the relatives and friends.
He was born at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernadino, California, but traveled around the world because his father was a Major in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Perry High School in Maryland and went onto culinary college and became a Culinary Chef. He was most fond of being a chef and principal at DC Space “Space is the place”. Byron loved his music and performing with different bands and friends.
He loved to travel and was a connoisseur of many fine restaurants. He loved gardening and had a passion for helping others. He enjoyed volunteering at Soberfest, Helping up Mission, Farmers Market and New Hope Lutheran Church in Maryland just to name a few. His kindness and caring heart and spirit brought joy and support to many, and he will be dearly missed. Byron was a longtime friend of Bill. Byron’s legacy will forever remain in our hearts.
The funeral service for Mr. Byron Douglas Washington will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Reverend Oliver Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
