Buster Franks, departed this life on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, 14 days.
Buster or “Babe” as he was known by those closest to him, was born November 24, 1924 the son of the late John and Ada Burks Franks. On April 10,1943, he was united in marriage to Dovie Kate Jones, who survives. Babe was employed with the Hardin County Solid Waste Department and was a member of the Nixon Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dovie Franks of Savannah; sons, William H. Franks of Union City, Tennessee, Marvin D. Franks and Danny Franks all of Savannah; two daughters, Betty Norris and Barbara Franks of Savannah; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, R.C. Franks of Savannah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his a daughter, Wilma Franks; a son, Herman Franks; brothers, Hardin Franks, Millard Franks and Buck Franks.
