Memorial Services for Mr. Burt Wayne Moore, age 54 of Ashland, will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 2:00 P.M. There will be a public visitation beginning one hour prior to services.

Mr. Moore passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Clay County Hospital. He was born and raised in Clay County, and began working with his father doing pulpwood and logging. Burt worked for 15 years at Russell Mills in the weaving department, and also worked with his brother installing floors for several years as well. Mr. Moore was very crafty, and was known for his drawings, making Alabama and Auburn Plaques, and made some very impressive wood carvings. Mr. Moore was outgoing, never met a stranger, and would give the shirt off of his back to help someone.

Mr. Moore is survived by his children, Kelsey Paige Corbman, Joshua Wayne Moore, and Dalaney Grace Jackson; his mother, Glenda Ruth McVey Moore; one sister, Angela Brown (Jeffery) of Lineville; five brothers: Ed Moore (Sharon) of Jacksonville, Greg Moore (Lisa) of Goodwater, Brian Moore (Marsha) of Ashland, Timothy Moore of Alexander City, and Charles Davidson (Terri) of Jackson’s Gap, plus a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his Father, James Timothy Moore; and his grandparents: Berford and Inez Moore and Charles and Essie McVey.
